Nina Dobrev and Julianne Hough are here to make your next outdoor brunch A+. With the world slowly opening up and summer at its peak, your weekends are about to be filled with park hangs, rooftop moments, and lazy pool days. I don’t know about y’all, but for me, at any of those outings, wine is an essential component. Dobrev and Hough agree—but for years they struggled to find a delicious brand that also suited their health needs.

So they made one: Fresh Vine Wine. For those interested in a low-carb, low-calorie, and vegan-friendly wine—like Hough and Dobrev are—this is for you. Fresh Vine Wine already has a California Cabernet Sauvignon, California Chardonnay, and California Pinot Noir—and the pair have just welcomed their newest wine, a rosé, to the Fresh Vine Wine family.

“We didn’t want to sacrifice taste for our more active, holistic, healthy lifestyles, but we also didn’t want to compromise on that for a pleasurable experience,” Hough tells me. “I think, for us, it was really important to be able to find the balance. With anything in life, you have to find that middle ground.”

That middle ground is how Dobrev and Hough approach the food they pair with their wines. For their Cabernet Sauvignon, they recommend cooking a pasta with tomato and basil or a Beyond Burger. For their Chardonnay, a salmon with asparagus pairs beautifully. As for their newly launched rosé, Dobrev and Hough suggest serving it with a citrus summer salad—specifically, the one they’ve been making for years.

“The rosé has such a light and crisp flavor, and it feels so refreshing. It melts in your mouth,” Dobrev says. “And this recipe pairs so well with that experience. It has so many different flavors but has nutrition and makes you feel light and healthy—but it still has all those different flavors.”

Take one look at the recipe, below, and you’ll see this. Dobrev and Hough’s citrus summer salad has all the health benefits you’re looking for from a salad, but it doesn’t skimp on tastiness at all. The grapefruit! The avocados! The pistachios! It does, indeed, pair well with rosé—arguably one of the lightest wines you can drink.

So why not give this duo a try for your next Sunday Funday? As someone who isn’t the biggest fan of cooking, I’m always here for a low-maintenance recipe—and this sounds like something even I can make. Read on for details.
